Automated Dialogue Replacment or ADR, is an audio post-production technique for recording film dialogue and synchronising it with the film footage that you’ve already shot. ADR is often required in scenarios where either the sound design was inadequate, or it was simply impossible to record good quality audio on location. This technique requires getting your actors to speak their lines again in a studio environment while watching the film footage. It’s time-consuming and technical, but can help save the audio of your production.
